In recent years, emissions in the road transport sector have consistently increased, making it the only sector where this trend is observed. However, this trend has been countered by an increased focus on healthy and sustainable mobility. European partnerships and policies have acknowledged the importance of transport and its co-benefits, emphasizing the need for climate-friendly, inclusive mobility solutions.
The Budapest Declaration adopted by countries in the WHO European Region further emphasized this importance, highlighting the need for promoting healthy, safe, and environmentally friendly transportation options. Now, the challenge is to capitalize on these favorable conditions to bring about transformative change at both the city and European levels. This can be achieved through local clean transport solutions that prioritize health, safety, and environmental friendliness.
To address these issues and promote sustainable transportation options, EPHA is hosting an informative event that explores the crucial links between clean mobility policies and health outcomes. The event aims to advocate for sustainable, affordable, accessible, and healthy transport solutions for all. Afterward, there will be a light networking lunch where participants can further engage and exchange ideas.
